I hear—and I forget; I see—and I remember; I
do—and I
understand.
KIDS School creates an open learning
situation – a free expressive environment for all
students. The
philosophy is simple – knowing is doing.
We try to meet the needs of every child, and because of
our
child-centres, integrated approach, we can accommodate
children with
specific learning or physical disabilities into the school
programme.
Their presence also provides exceptional learning
opportunities and
experiences for other children whose needs are not so
dramatic.
Aims in brief of KIDS:
- To build a sharing, caring community where we learn
the
value of each person.
- To use different methods of learning to meet the
individual
needs of each person.
- To encourage parents and friends to work and learn
with us.
- To work at individual levels—NO grades, class or
artificial
divisions.
- To use—and enjoy—resources and abilities from all
areas of
the community. This means you.
- To encourage people—especially teachers and
students—to
observe our situation, in the hope that the variety and
quality of
activities we have will suggest alternatives for them.
- Self-sufficiency and autonomy for all.
- To explore camp type experiences as much as possible,
with
a minimum of one camp per term, or the equivalent.
- We want to be an active, welcoming, loving community.
For
this, we must have participants. KIDS is not a spectator
school—it is
for people interested in learning, sharing and caring.
Founded in 1975, KIDS has shown that its unique brand of
education is very successful and can only grow stronger.
Working with
everyday situations to allow children to understand and
grow with
whatever subjects they take, KIDS takes learning to a
greater level
through experience.
